Today, we’re taking a look at an intriguing mock draft from CBS, crafted by Chris Trapasso. Let’s dive into this sucker! CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft The draft order is determined based on current betting odds via BetMGM—shout out to those catchy Jamie Foxx commercials!CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Starting things off, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Travis Hunter, a wide receiver/SL cornerback out of Colorado. There’s been some debate about Hunter’s standing in this draft class. While he isn’t widely regarded as the top cornerback or wide receiver, like prospects such as Will Johnson, he’s an exceptional talent.

Hunter may not be on par with someone like Sauce Gardner or Derek Stingley from previous classes, but he’s certainly close to Will Johnson’s tier. It’s rare to find corners with such impressive ball skills—skills strong enough to make them legitimate threats at wide receiver.

Travis Hunter: A Unique Prospect

And I mean, I think you can make a good argument that Travis Hunter could be wide receiver one in this class. It’s like him and Teto and McMillan are just two very different prospects in terms of the wide receiver position.

With Travis Hunter, they’re getting two for the price of one seemingly. Listen, when it comes to the NFL, he’s going to have to pick a lane. I think it’s very likely, given the money invested in wide receiver, that he goes the wide receiver route. But I really like him as a corner in the NFL.

Regardless, the Jags, they need both positions, so you’re just going ahead, taking the most talented player in this class in Travis Hunter. I don’t disagree with that one bit.

Tennessee Titans: Selecting Teroa McMillan

CHECK ALSO

Pick two: Tennessee Titans take Teroa  I’m going to read this one real quick. McMillan is having a Drake London-type season for Arizona. That’s probably going to be the comp for him for many people. That’s kind of the comp I’ve been on since we were early into the process.

Listen, if you are the Titans and you aren’t in on this quarterback class—not saying you’ve seen enough from Will Le to warrant not taking a quarterback—but I think in terms of this class, are you getting a true upgrade?

If you’re Bran Callahan, you got enough slack on the leash. You don’t have to plant your flag in this quarterback class. Instead, you can be like, “Hey.

Tennessee Titans: Building Around Will Levis

We got Will up; he’s still on a cheap contract. If he’s bad, then we’re going to be bad next year, and we can maybe get our quarterback then. Let’s just go ahead, let’s grab more talent around him.

You already traded DeAndre Hopkins. You will have Treyon Burks, who hasn’t worked out. He’s a free agent. I believe Tyler Boyd’s a free agent. You need someone to go hand in hand with Calvin Ridley.

So, Teto McMillan, I think, is a fabulous selection.

Cleveland Browns: Drafting Jaylen Milroe

CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Pick three: The Cleveland Browns take Jaylen Milroe, quarterback out of Alabama. Arguably the most toolsy quarterback in this class. A guy with a big arm and unparalleled ability as a runner at the quarterback position.

Like the on-designed runs, man,CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft  Jaylen Milroe has been absolutely nutty and insane. And if you’re the Browns, I.

Cleveland Browns: Quarterback Decision

I’m really kind of content if they want to go quarterback. Think about it—go quarterback.

You don’t have to fall into that whole sunk cost fallacy where, “Hey, we’re so invested in DeShaun Watson, we can’t go quarterback anywhere else.”CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft  It’s not like DeShaun Watson has shown you anything since arriving in Cleveland.

So, I definitely think you could go quarterback if you like a guy enough in this class, or you could go elsewhere if you’re not in love with the quarterback class. I think both routes are probably the right call. I don’t think there’s really a wrong answer here as long as you’re getting a prospect high on your board.

Milroe ends up being the top quarterback here. CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft So, kind of nuts, kind of wild.

New York Giants: Drafting Cam Ward CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Pick four: Cam Ward indeed goes to the New York Giants.

They get their quarterback of the future. They have already benched Daniel Jones—they’re going to keep him healthy so they can cut him this offseason. CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft Rather than going to Drew Lock, who could win you games, they look like they’re opting for the tank with Tommy DeVito—Tommy Cutlets back in town.

So, Cam Ward—if you could clean up a lot of his technique—like, you see the footwork can be a bit sloppy with him. When you consider how accurate he is with choppy technique, you’re kind of encouraged by that, right?

And Brian Daboll—he came from Buffalo where they had to work on Josh Allen, and hey, it worked out pretty darn well for the Bills

Las Vegas Raiders: Drafting Shadur Sanders CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft
WATCH

We got the Las Vegas Raiders; they’re taking Shadur Sanders. Shadur is heading to the big market of Las Vegas, and Pierce, if he makes it through this season CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft is likely coaching for his job next year.

You get the highest floor quarterback in this class. I think best-case scenario for Shadur Sanders is like a Joe Burrow. That’s kind of where his skill set lies. But even then, I mean, that’s kind of hoping for the best.

I think you’re still going to get a quarterback that’s capable of being a top 10, top 12 guy, but when you don’t have those elite tools CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft, it makes it less likely. I mean, shoot, maybe he even could fall into like—I would say Jared Goff—but I think Jared Goff coming out had an arm.CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

But regardless, hey, I think the funny thing here is if Deion Sanders ends up being the head coach, not in 2025, because I think they go with Antonio Pierce for another year, but if he arrives in Las Vegas as the head coach in 2026, I think that would be funny as hell.

And hey, shoot, man, I don’t know what Warren Sapp’s doing, but maybe you can get him in as the DC.

New England Patriots: Drafting Mel Williams CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Pick six: New England Patriots, they go with Mel Williams, Edge out of Georgia. They get a toolsy..

New England Patriots: Drafting Mel Williams

They get a toolsy prospect. Remember, they did something similar to this with Keon White out of Georgia Tech a couple of years ago, though that was in the second round. He was a top 40 selection, I believe.

When it comes to tools, Mel Williams has it. He’s got it, got it, got it. And the production honestly hasn’t been terrible this year. It just hasn’t been on par with, like, a James Pierce or, uh… I’m blanking, I’m blanking on Abdul Carter’s name, and I don’t know why.

It hasn’t been on par with those two guys. It’s a little below where Nick Gordon’s at, but you would argue Williams has the better tools, so maybe he’s higher on your board.

You would need another edge here, with Teto McMillan off the board. Depending on how you feel about this offensive line class, maybe you don’t go with a Will Campbell, maybe you don’t go with a Kelvin Banks. So, they go edge here.

New York Jets: Drafting Will Campbell CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

We got the New York Jets going with Will Campbell, tackle out of LSU.

And this is a fascinating one, just because, I mean, yeah, you’re probably going to need another tackle. Tyron Smith—free agent. Morgan Moses—free agent.

Olu Fosu will be one of your tackles moving forward. Will Campbell gets an opportunity to be a tackle in the NFL here. Worst-case scenario, you kick him into guard and you feel great about that. They got Elijah Vera-Tucker. They also signed… I don’t know how long John Simpson’s contract is. I feel like it was like three… maybe.CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

New York Jets: Will Campbell’s Position Flexibility

It was a two-year, but you could move him into guard if an injury happens or maybe he ends up just being a better guard than tackle in the NFL. He does have less-than-ideal arm length, but I think you could make it work. The NFL feels like they’re moving away from guys that have those sub-32-inch arms, but typically, if you can be an athletic freak, they’ll let you go.

Peter Skoronski, the Titans ended up not doing that—they’ve kept him at guard. Got Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater… I don’t think Campbell’s on the athletic level of those guys that I named, so I think a large part of the NFL is probably going to view him as a guard.CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft We can maybe see him go outside the top 10 because of it.

Carolina Panthers: Drafting Abdul Carter CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Pick seven: We got Abdul Carter going to the Carolina Panthers. They desperately need pass rush—defense desperately needs some pass rush.CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Abdul Carter is my Edge one. He has been utterly wonderful after kind of a slow start. He—just—this dude is a madman.

Let me remind you that he is playing his first year as a true Edge player after being an off-ball linebacker for the Nittany Lions, CBS 2025 NFL Mock Draft and it’s coming together for him. It really, really is.

So, I think the Panthers would love to get someone in there that could rush the passer.
