Browns’ Season Takeaways
With eight losses, the Browns’ season is more or less over. However, one key takeaway is the potential of Jameis Winston as the Browns’ starter. Since Jameis took over, the Browns have achieved three 300-yard total offense games in four outings Houston Texans & Washington Commanders, compared to just one in seven games with Deshaun Watson. The difference is significant, and Jameis clearly gives the Browns a better chance to win. Houston Texans & Washington Commanders
Steelers’ Challenges and Coaching Criticism
The Steelers’ loss shouldn’t provoke an overreaction. They had played their arch-rival just days before and were not close to 100% for this game. Additionally, it’s unfair for any team to face back-to-back division games on a short week. However, questionable coaching decisions, such as Mike Tomlin’s timeout and the fade route to Cordarrelle Patterson on a two-point conversion, didn’t help. Despite this loss, the Steelers remain an 8–3 team with a strong defense, though their upcoming schedule is notably difficult.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Dominate the Giants
They released quarterback Daniel Jones, started Tommy DeVito, and faced a playoff-contending Buccaneers team coming off a Week 11 bye. Tampa outgained the Giants with 450 yards of offense to their 245
Buccaneers’ Dominant Win Over the Giants
It seemed like there was a big play from the Buccaneers on every drive, whether it was Bucky Irving, Rahe Jarrett, Cade Otton, or Mike Evans, who led the team in receiving yards in his return. The Giants couldn’t contain Tampa’s offense, and at one point, Baker Mayfield even mimicked Tommy DeVito’s touchdown celebration. This was an effortless victory for the Buccaneers, as they led 30–0 entering the fourth quarter. With a clear path to the playoffs, the Buccaneers are in a strong position, now standing 1–0 for the week.
Giants’ Struggles Continue Houston Texans & Washington Commanders
For the Giants, the takeaway is clear: aside from the Daniel Jones situation, this is a bad team overall. Most of the roster is a product of Joe Schoen’s construction, and unfortunately, the results have been underwhelming. If someone were starting a franchise from scratch, this is likely the kind of roster they’d have—featuring a few good players but largely lacking impact talent. Week after week, they perform as a bottom-tier team.
Dolphins Stay on Track for Playoffs Houston Texans & Washington Commanders
The Dolphins, another team eyeing the playoffs, took care of business with a 34–5 victory over the Patriots. Interestingly, none of those touchdowns were to Tyreek Hill. Miami completed the season sweep over New England and has outscored its last two opponents by a combined score of 68–34.
Looking Ahead for Miami
Despite their success, the Dolphins couldn’t establish a run game in this matchup. If they can secure a win in Green Bay on Thursday, their path to a 10-win season becomes much clearer. However, with each game presenting its challenges,
Dolphins’ Passing Game Shines
The game rested on the Dolphins’ passing attack, and they delivered in style. Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami offense showcased their strengths, cementing their position as a playoff contender.
Patriots’ Struggles Persist
For the Patriots, there aren’t many positives to take away. This is not a good team overall, with the lone bright spot being their 22-year-old rookie quarterback. While their run defense deserves some credit, the broader issue lies in their defensive performance under Gerard Mayo. Despite being touted as a defensive-minded coach, the Patriots have allowed 62 points in their last two games. Although these matchups were against strong teams like the Rams and Dolphins, the inconsistency is a cause for concern.
Long-Term Questions for New England
New England’s long-term plans remain unclear, aside from what seems to be a promising franchise quarterback. The team needs a stronger foundation and a clearer vision to return to competitiveness in the coming seasons.

Colts Overwhelmed in the Trenches
The Colts struggled against the Lions, particularly in the trenches. Andrew Ogletree’s key drop and missed opportunities compounded their issues. Jonathan Taylor managed a 14-yard run but finished with just 35 yards overall, with 10 of his carries yielding only 21 yards.
